Young Farmer Challenge Trailer
Through years of experience, SA Next Gen has a trailer and items needed to make running a Young Farmer Challenge (YFC) at your local show easier. The trailer is stored at Port Elliot with thanks to the Southern Agricultural Society Inc.
It is advised that shows wishing to run a YFC appoint a convenor/coordinator to organise the event. It is then their responsibility to get in touch to make plans for getting the trailer to and from the venue. This may be a good job for current, past and even future rural ambassador/s of your show.
A hiring fee of $100 is appreciated to help cover the cost of the registration, general maintenance and repairs, as well as the purchase of additional challenge items. Damage to the trailer or items as a direct result of the running of the challenge are to be covered by the hirer. Show societies are also welcome to add items to the trailer if they wish.
Transport of the trailer and running of the event should generally be organised by the hirer, and SA Next Gen will assist wherever possible pending availability of Executive Committee & SA Next Gen Members. A cost may be associated with any transport by SA Next Gen if required. Other Rural Ambassadors and former SA Next Gen Members have also been involved with YFC events at different Shows, so there is a pool of people able to give advice and assist if available. When transporting the trailer, a registered and insured vehicle of a suitable size must be used. The driver must hold a valid license and their details included in the application below.
More information on running a Young Farmer Challenge can be found on the SA Next Gen and ASA websites under the Young Farmer Challenge
