Every year on the first Saturday of the Royal Adelaide Show, Next Gen hosts a series of events for show goers with a passion for ag. Together these make up Youth In Ag Day - Celebrating youth in agriculture while educating AND entertaining the general public

Hi everyone! The Royal Adelaide Show is just around the corner and we are so excited! Check out the events we are hosting this year, we hope you can join us!

State Young Farmers Challenge - Saturday 30th August

12:00pm Goyder Pavilion Main Stage

6:00pm Main Arena

Watch as 4 teams battle it out for the South Australian title and the opportunity to compete at the National Young Farmer Challenge in Perth in 2026. The quiz is packed with interactive and thought provoking questions, hosted by Lachlan Johnson. The final is then held at prime time on the Main Arena, entertainment that is riveting to watch!

SA Next Gen Royal Roundup - Saturday 30th August

7:00pm Lower Secretary's Function Room

Join us for our yearly networking event, but looking a little bit different this year... We are hosting this free-to-register event in a private space this year, the Lower Secretary's Function Room is in the Secretary's Building on the Northern end of the Main Arena. Youth In Ag Day (YIAD) has evolved over the last decade, checkout the info below for events that have taken place in previous years

Next Gen Breakfast

Held in the Bull Bar on the first Saturday of the Royal Adelaide Show, the Next Gen Breakfast caters to people showing animals. Breakfast is a great way to network with other people who are passionate about the ag industry. In order to access this breakfast, held prior to the official opening of the show, you must be showing livestock on the day or become a financial member of Next Gen.

AG CHAT

The inaugural 'Ag Chat' forum at the Royal Adelaide show was held in 2016 on the main stage at the Goyder Pavilion. Leading industry professionals join Next Gen on stage to discuss 'big picture' issues in the ag industry in an open forum with general public. No holds barred, you can ask any question. The theme of 2016 was 'Technology in agriculture.'

ROyal REndezvous

Evening time at YIAD creates a mass migration of young aggies to the Bull Bar for Next Gen's Royal Rendezvous, with a prime location for viewing the evening entertainment at the show. The exclusive viewing area is open to Next Gen Members who enjoy a drink on us and evening entertainment to kick on into the night after the main arena entertainment is done for the night.
